Project Overview

Aura Lifestyle commissioned our team to design a premium, limited-edition merchandise packaging set for their range of luxury candles and room fragrances. The objective was to create a sensory unboxing experience that establishes their brand authority in the high-end retail marketplace.

The Challenges

Standard packaging relies on thin, flimsy board with excessive plastic coatings, which feels cheap and harms the environment. The challenge was to design a box structure using 100% recyclable, sustainable materials that still possesses a heavy, premium weight and rigid hand-feel. Additionally, the box needed to protect fragile glassware during shipping without relying on plastic bubble wraps or synthetic foam inserts.

Our Solution

We designed a dual-layered rigid sleeve box using thick, dense grayboard lined with custom-dyed, FSC-certified dark charcoal art paper. We added a textured, geometric debossed pattern on the exterior sleeve, creating a tactile finish that catches the light. For protection, we developed a modular, interlocking corrugated cardboard insert that holds the glassware securely in place. To contrast with the dark charcoal paper, we introduced a vibrant green neon ribbon tab for pull-out convenience.

The Outcomes

The new Aura packaging set helped drive a 30% increase in retail sales during the holiday season. The packaging was widely shared by consumers on social platforms, generating organic digital reach. The project achieved a 100% plastic-free certification, demonstrating that sustainable design and high-end retail luxury can work in perfect harmony.

The structural designs were stress-tested and audited on drop-impact safety and environmental rules:
